Professionals: Participants with Disabilities
At The PPD Project, we seek to support adults with disabilities who are looking for an engaging way to explore their passions. Our professionals are placed on a team of college volunteers and community mentors.
The PPD Project serves those in the intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) community, which includes, but is not limited to, people with down syndrome, autism, fragile X syndrome, Williams syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other undiagnosed or invisible disabilities. Professionals must have a baseline of verbal, manual, or assisted communication skills as well as the ability to perform basic self-care by themselves or with the help of an aide they provide.
Professionals should be able to commit to attending bi-weekly project workshops in-person as well as regularly scheduled virtual check-ins.
